Thank you for joining airportNEXT! 2012 Co-create

On 20 June 2012 the first airportNEXT! seminar was held at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Up to 230 guests from airports, academia government, businesses and start-ups, joined Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, theGROUNDS and the European Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community), to be inspired and co-create on the challenges that airports face, taking into account sustainability and innovation as important business drivers.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, theGROUNDS and Climate-KIC wish to thank all the participants for their enthusiasm and their inspiring and critical contributions. The seminar was very successful for both the quantity and quality of participants, and also in terms  of results from the workshops.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and theGROUNDS are assessing the outcomes for follow-up and for implementation. We have also been in contact with the participants for their reaction on the seminar and the workshops. We are looking to present some of the results in the Airport Council International conference that Schiphol will host in November 2012.

In the meanwhile, we invite you to take a look at some of the results of the workshops at this site. You can find an photo impression of the workshops at the theme pages. The general challenge: generate some workable results and proposals, so we can start building the airport of the future tomorrow.

“Companies that adapt to changing circumstances are the ones that survive. To be more precise: the ones that are prepared for the transition to the green economy. They are tomorrow's leaders."
Hero Prins, Director for both the Entrepreneurship activities and Climate-KIC in The Netherlands

"Personally, I would not want to lead an enterprise that does not have sustainability in its DNA. However, striving to get greener is part of a bigger goal. Greener is an important aspect of better."
Jos Nijhuis , CEO & President Schiphol Group
